CollectiveCrunch is a privately held Data as a service AI company since 2016. The company originated from the idea that we could make a difference by combining climate and geo data with state-of-the-art analytics to develop new insights.
Since its inception in 2016, CollectiveCrunch has established a strong position in the Nordics and Baltics.
CollectiveCrunch has also been approved by Verra, a nonprofit organization that operates standards in environmental and social markets, including the world’s leading carbon crediting program, the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program.
We are an international team of 6 different nationalities, with our co-founders coming from Austria, Finland and Germany.

My name is Tomas Thuresson. I have a MSc. in Forestry and a Dr of Forestry (Forest Inventory and Management Planning). In my research 1989-1997 at SLU in Umeå I was working with “Precision Forestry” and “Stand free forest management” based on objective on the ground inventories as well as remote sensing data.

Markko Vaarnas is specialized in internationalizing B2B software and service companies. His entrepreneur experience accumulates from Global Intelligence Alliance Group (GIA), a company he co-founded in 1995 and successfully exited in late 2014. After that he has been advising and consulting dozens of growth companies. He was one of the first angel investors in CollectiveCrunch and a Board Member since 2023.
